We believe that overcoming false and incomplete information is key in achieving food security and safe migration
Food and nutrition security, and irregular migration are demanding and intertwined challenges with important implications for human health, dignity and livelihoods. Edo State, Nigeria is a common point of departure for irregular migration going alongside with prevailing food and nutrition insecurity especially in rural communities. Incomplete and false information on the prospects of migration as well as misinformation on food choices represent a significant hazard to the livelihoods of rural communities. The project aims to address this problem by designing and implementing Rural Information Campaigns on Migration and Nutrition (RIMN). To identify best practices, we propose to compare the effectiveness of different information campaigns by means of a randomized control trial experiment. The initiative builds on local partnerships as to enhance trust and secure the continuation of the project.
