Workshops and consultations to inspire institutes and Stakeholder.

Public consultation

TAKE PART AND SHARE

In 2015, the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition Foundation started a series of stakeholder workshops to identify priorities and recommendations which can then be used to inspire policy makers, various industries and the general public.

These stakeholder workshops engage international experts in a discussion on issues related to food and environmental sustainability. Each event culminates in a co-authored document open to and finalised by public consultation, intended to gather even more sources of inspiration, ideas and in-depth understanding.

The goal of these sessions is to offer tools to tackle the challenges of the current agri-food system in a concrete, shared way and thereby create new models of sustainable development.

TAKE PART AND SHARE

CLIMATE @ RISK AND FOOD @ RISK

During the first workshop, the BCFN Foundation got different experts from different disciplines involved to work on the issues of sustainable development for the agricultural industry and on the possibility of tackling the challenges related to climate change.

Through individual and group working sessions, the stakeholders imagined different ways to reach the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: scenarios, solutions and guidelines which were gathered in a shared document, open to public consultation.

A TOUR AROUND THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET: CARBOHYDRATES

A workshop dedicated to the role of carbohydrates in the Mediterranean diet, with internationally-renowned experts who discussed new scientific frontiers and the challenges of the near future.

The debate on sustainable food then was published in a study which covered the correct attitude towards carbohydrates, with new models and paradigms acting as starting points for more sustainable food production and consumption. The document was then presented for public consultation to collect reactions, comments and opinions.
