We want to reduce food waste in collective restauration, where this problem has been tackled for a long time by managers but not by consumers.

What The Food is a smartphone application. By providing information to students in canteens and to collective restaurants' managers, it prevents and reduces food waste. Students can organize their lunch (thanks to the daily menus and ingredients information and a functionality to let your friends know where you eat), they can chose their meal and spend less time in the queue. This leads to a better meal, with more time and a food with added value. Time shortage and bad food consideration are among the core reasons of food waste. On the other hand, thanks to student's profile and their indications (where they eat as well as their feed backs on their lunch), we provide paramount data for canteens' managers, which help them adjusting the quantity and the dishes proposed daily.
