Joining forces to meet the challenge of sustainability

The BCFN Foundation works on food and environmental sustainability in collaboration with various networks, foundations, scientific and research partners, all involved in the challenge of sustainability.

This collaborative network promotes the sharing of ideas and knowledge with the aim of designing global projects capable of guaranteeing a more sustainable food system for future generations that respects both people and the planet.

European Foundation Centre

A European-focused platform which, for more than 25 years, has brought together the key players within institutional philanthropy from across the world. The EFC’s aim is to support over 200 members of foundations, companies and other bodies who use their own resources to finance public projects.

Global Alliance for the future of food

An alliance which promotes dialogue and debate among international foundations involved in building more sustainable food and agriculture systems. Its aim is to set the conditions for a new food future which can confront the new challenges of food sustainability, food security and accessibility.

Scientific partners

Milan Center for Food Law and Policy

A permanent watchdog which monitors legislation on the right to food. The center was established for Expo Milano 2015 in collaboration with the Milan Chamber of Commerce, the City of Milan and the Region of Lombardy, under the presidency of Livia Pomodoro. Its aim is to collect, organise and conduct comparative studies of international legislation on the right to food to highlight the best policies.

Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN)

An initiative launched in 2012 by the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, to mobilise scientific and technological expertise with a view to designing sustainable development projects. Its aim is to promote dialogue on sustainability and support international initiatives and projects aimed at meeting SDGs at a local, national and international level.

Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici

A scientific research centre on climate change established in Italy in 2005 by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea (MATTM), the Ministry of Agricultural and Forestry Policies (MIPAF) and the Ministry of Finance (MEF). Its aim is to study the causes and consequences of climate change through global model simulation, with particular focus on the Mediterranean.
