Outstanding character of the economic and financial world, Mario Monti is President of the Bocconi University in Milan. He is also honorary President of Bruegel, a European think tank about economic policy and member of the Reflection Group on the Future of Europe for the Years 2020-2030, established by the European Council and chaired by Felipe Gonzalez. He has been for ten years member of the European Commission, responsible for the Single Market, financial services, taxes and competition; he is known for his radical reforms of the antitrust European system and of the concentrations and he led, together with the American authorities, the establishment of the International Competition Network (ICN).
