Held every year, the event is scheduled at Villa d'Este in Cernobbio (Como) in September, where The European House-Ambrosetti organizes the international forum entitled "The scenario for competitive strategies, today and tomorrow". It is an international event attended by heads of state and governments, the leading representatives of the European institutions, ministers, Nobel prizewinners, business executives and managers, to discuss the subjects having the greatest impact and current relevance to the global economy and society as a whole.

The 2009 edition will also involve the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition, with the presence of the Chairman Guido Barilla and several members of the Advisory Board. During the work sessions, the latest position paper will be presented live, on the subjects of food and health.
