Today, 22nd April, World Earth Day [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Day] is celebrated around 174 countries all over the world. This is the 39th edition, as the occurrence was introduced on the  April 22nd, 1970. The purpose was to raise awareness about the need for conservation of planet’s natural resources.

G8 Environment’s works starts today too: the Environment Ministers of the member countries, together with those of China, India, Brasil, Mexico, Indonesia, South Africa, Australia, Republic of Korea, Egypt and the European Union bodies, will be working together  in Siracusa untill Friday 24th April on key issues such as fighting climate changes and biodiversity conservation.
