Advisory boardOUTLINE

Advisory Board is the body that proposes and develops the themes and analysis studied by the Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition.

In line with the Center’s multi-disciplinary approach, the Board is composed of scientists and experts from different, yet complementary, sectors. In addition, in conformity with its mission – to ensure that all the most expert and qualified professionals available can offer their contribution – outside experts from research bodies and universities are also called upon to make a high-level, targeted contribution to the work of the Center.

The Advisory Board operates on the principles of:

  • Independence: it is autonomous in its thinking and analyses;
  • Sharing: it is an engine behind a process of encounter and discussion that is extended as broadly as possible to anyone who has ideas and proposals to offer, whether it be a government, public or private institution, regardless of nationality, ideological choice or political preferences;
  • Excellence: it is a meeting place for the top internationally recognized people in social, medical-scientific, environmental and economic fields.

Barbara Buchner is Director, Climate Policy Initiative of Venice. Up to 2009 she was an analyst at the International Energy Agency of Paris (IEA), where she focused on the Kyoto Protocol and studied different possible approaches to the greenhouse effect.
